Are You Leaving Money on the Table?
__________________________
We’re living in the Internet Age where anybody, anywhere can buy your products whenever they feel like it. We’ve all heard that but there are two ‘ifs’ that nobody is telling you about.
The above is true:
- IF you have a website that is automated and allows you to sell 24 hours per day and
- IF your potential customers can find your site
Make no mistake those are two very big IFs and they are factors that most website designers know nothing about.
Building an ecommerce website is not difficult. Maintaining and updating it is not difficult. Making it profitable is the challenge. It all comes down to the old equation Traffic x Conversion = Revenue.
If your site doesn’t get any visitors it won’t generate sales for you. If it does get visitors but those visitors don’t buy your products (conversion) it won’t generate sales for you.
However, if you do get the equation right the whole world opens up to you. As a retailer you know that getting a customer to buy the first time is the hardest sale that you’ll ever make. The problem is – especially if you own a store in a location with many tourists – that you know buyers love your products but may never buy them again simply because they don’t have the opportunity.
Another key to a successful ecommerce store is setting it up in such a way that you can build and nurture a customer and prospect email list that you can keep in touch with when you have special events or sales. If this isn’t clear please download my Make Your Site Sell report.
The sad fact is that most people don’t buy the first time they come to any website. But imagine what happens to your website conversion if you have a list of prospects and customers that have shown interest in what you sell and have given you permission to keep in touch with them. Your conversion and profitability will go through the roof.
Finally, building a store from scratch or adding one to your current site should not cost a fortune. Nor should it take more than a month or so to create, add products and start selling online.
